Linux [1]: Open Source and its connection with the Copyright

tuxLinux is open source operating system software that different from the popular operating system, Microsoft Windows (usually referred to as closed propietary, closed source). Linux was originally the name of a kernel of the UNIX operating system, popular in the network segment. Linux created by Linus Torvald in 1993.

As an open operating system, Linux is developed and freely distributed by anyone without having to buy from certain companies. Linux source code is prevalent in the virtual world and free downloadable and developed according to the needs of users.

Linux provides flexibility to the users without having to fear considered as piracy. Because Linux is protected by the GNU General Public License, anyone can develop and distribute back, and of course include the source code open to the user.

Copyright laws are applied in Indonesia flare basically gave a very big opportunity for the use of Linux among the primary education. Linux as an operating system that is very cheap and even free of charge allows for computer users in Indonesia. Can not be denied that the existence of Microsoft Windows can not fully replaced by Linux because some difficulty Linux for general computer users. Not to support a wide range of hardware from many world-class vendor.

However, the expensive of Microsoft operating systems make Indonesian computer user completely hard. On the one hand are the ease, while on the other hand must be faced with high prices. The result can be to guess, piracy popularity everywhere, copyright infringement is not a taboo item.

This is where the challenges for Linux to fill it, how ease of use while presenting the price affordability of computer users for Indonesia. As the open source operating system, Linux has many advantages that are not owned by other operating system, giving freedom to the extent of the area-users to develop and distribute and re-distribute without fear shadowed by infringing copyright.
